Green’s brews gluten-free from the start. No chemicals are used to remove gluten because it is brewed with naturally gluten-free grains: sorghum, millet, brown rice, and buckwheat.

The De Proef Brewery, De Proefbrouwerij, in Lochristi, Belgium is where our beers are brewed. The brewery’s own vision statement is to develop and brew a product that is as pure and honest as possible, with Green’s Gluten-Free being no exception. De Proef boasts an on-site research laboratory and advanced testing equipment (unlike those found in most breweries) to ensure that a meticulous attention to detail and control is maintained at every stage of the brewing process.
Guiding this process is Belgian Brewmaster Dirk Naudts, his degree in biochemistry provides the expertise needed for unparalleled quality.
The Origin Of Naturally Gluten-Free Beer
Born from Necessity
Diagnosed with celiac disease, Derek Green thought beer would only ever be a distant memory. After years of beer-less days and nights, he wanted to enjoy the taste of a full-flavored beer and embarked on a quest to make it a reality.
The Celiac And The Professor
Derek’s journey led him to work with Belgian Brewmaster Dirk Naughts to craft a unique and closely guarded recipe for gluten-free beer. Together they launched Green’s Gluten-Free in 2004 with the goal of offering delicious naturally gluten-free beer for everyone. From classic Belgian styles to U.S. favorites, Green’s has been helping inspire the gluten-free beer evolution one sip at a time!
